Privacy policy
Short version: this is a static site. It has no accounts, no logins, no comment system and no database of visitors. It does not ask you for personal information and there is nowhere on it for you to enter any.
The calculators
Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Battery sizes, commute distances, prices and the state you pick are never transmitted anywhere. Close the tab and they are gone. There is no server to send them to.
Search
Directory search downloads an index file to your browser and filters it locally. What you type is not sent to us or to anyone else.
Maps
Map tiles are loaded from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which means your browser makes a request to them and they will see your IP address, as any web server does. Their policies are published at osmfoundation.org. Pages without a map make no such request.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled on this site, they are used only to count page views in aggregate. No profile is built and nothing is sold. Your browser's Do Not Track and global privacy control settings are respected where the analytics provider supports them.
Advertising links
Clicking an advertising link takes you through a redirect on this domain and then to the retailer. The retailer sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy from that point on, and you should read theirs if it matters to you. This site sets no advertising cookies of its own.
Hosting logs
Like every website, the server that hosts this one keeps standard access logs containing IP addresses, timestamps and requested URLs. They are used for security and troubleshooting and are not combined with anything else.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects nothing from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here. Because the site is static and stores nothing about you, there is nothing for us to delete on request, but you are welcome to ask anything via the contact address on the about page.
